Allah has made prayer mandatory for all Muslims for many reason.
1. As a mean of self-purification.
2. Spirituality
3. To spend time in remembrance of him (i.e. to prevent you from wrongdoing).
4. Source of strength and patience.
5. For bringing peace and tranquility to your life.
6. Distinguishing between a believer and a non-believer (kafir).
7. As a mean for erasing your sins and seeking forgiveness.
8. Developing good character and discipline.
